Under the leadership of the Estonian Woodhouse Association and thanks to Interreg Central Baltic program project Wood for Youth, the Woodhouse Academy has been launched with the goal of providing up-to-date and practical knowledge on factory-based production, woodhouse building, design, and production management through specially developed courses. The target audience includes young professionals, specialists, and career changers.
Collaboration with Nordic Render for the creation of course video lectures began in October 2024, when the first meeting was held and preparations for the first 3D video lecture started. The project lasted a total of three months, during which our 3D designer Arno managed to create an impressive 55 3D animations!
Challenges are meant to be overcome! And so it was this time.
What made this project truly unique and innovative was the fact that the designer had only audio files and a few written comments as references for creating the 3D animations. Normally, the workflow would also include visual examples or sketches for different scenes to help guide the animation process. This time, however, our designer had to come up with approximately 90% of the concepts and precise scenarios on his own, improvising along the way.
Additionally, Arno had the opportunity to create various new 3D effects, demonstrating rain showers, drying puddles, shaking plastic covers, and fire. There were several videos where developing the exact scenario and determining the camera angles posed a considerable challenge, but Arno overcame these difficulties step by step until the entire puzzle came together. According to Arno, the collaboration with the Woodhouse Association went smoothly and effectively, as the client provided constructive feedback to achieve the best possible final result.
