Nordic Render Challenge History – Growing a 3D Design Competition

At Nordic Render, we specialize in delivering high-end 3D visualizations and architectural renderings to clients across the real estate, product, and interior design industries. But once a year, we turn our attention inward — giving our talented 3D artists a chance to break away from client briefs and explore their full creative potential.

That’s where the Nordic Render Challenge comes in.

Launched in 2022, the Nordic Render Challenge is an annual 3D design competition that encourages our in-house team of 3D designers to push their technical and artistic boundaries. The first edition focused on creating a compelling 3D interior rendering, allowing participants to showcase photorealistic detail, lighting, material usage, and mood.

Since 2023, the Challenge has expanded to include industry collaboration partners, offering real-world inspiration and recognition.

• In 2023, we partnered with Lasita Maja OÜ, a leading modular and wooden house manufacturer.
• In 2024, the partner is AS Standard, one of Estonia’s most renowned furniture producers.

Each year’s submissions include interior visualizations, furniture CGI, and conceptual 3D renderings that blend imagination with industry relevance. Once the entries are revealed, public voting begins to determine the winner of the Nordic Render Challenge. Our collaboration partner also awards a special jury prize, recognizing exceptional creative or technical achievements.

The competition offers more than just stunning visual content — it’s a space for professional development, creative expression, and team inspiration. For our 3D artists, it’s a rewarding opportunity to experiment, grow, and be recognized for their artistic vision in the field of photorealistic rendering and 3D architectural visualization.
